Ma Coyote Roamin'

Ma Coyote Roamin' © Alan Wherry daisyamerica LLC
Chorus
Ma Coyote roamin’ – lookin’ to feed her new brood
As New York City welcomes a brand new day
She ain’t inclined to view the Hudson, flowing slow as glass
Or the sunlight, orange, on the cliffs of the Pallisades
Lopin’ where the Lenape walked, not too long ago in Earth time
Is she a harbinger for her kind or for the demise of ours?
Meanwhile on the cosmic scale – the Great Lord with the blue throat
Churns up the poisons in the Milky Way
Chorus
Malice, from the mediocre mind,
Malevolence, from the mean of spirit,
Moves aside for She, the Creator
Who traces the living forms of nature
Chorus
But this old world’s gonna change
When imaginations blossom
Where the three rivers meet
And we connect to the divine within

A Wise Man From The East

A wise man from the East
© Alan Wherry - daisyamerica LLC
I met a wise man from the East
East Belfast, I mean
Man was he wise
He'd seen the sunrise on the mountains
From the Adirondacks to Siberia's Altai
He'd sailed down the river Nile
Under a cornflower, azure sky
From the top of Michu Pichu
He'd marveled at the southern skies
Seen the sun rise on the Pyramids of Giza
A crystal desert sunrise
He'd sailed on Cochin harbor
And the coast of Malabar
From Trivandrum to Calcutta
He plied his trade as a ship's carpenter
He meditated on the Great Buddha
in Kamakura, Japan
Did a puja to Lord Shiva
on an island near Hassan
On a February Shivaratri Day
He saw two king cobras
In the jungles of Mysore
A black one, and a gold one
A miracle for sure.
He's met the greatest Guru
That the world has ever seen
She gave him moksha, Self-realization
If you know what that means
He raised my kundalini
On Tievebulliagh mountain fair
On a warm spring day in the month of May
I found my purpose there.

I SAW THE LIGHT

Chorus
I saw the light, dawn on New York City
I saw the light, man it looked so pretty
I saw the light, dawn on New York City
I saw the light, cross the US of A
Verse
Standing on the testing ground
Beside an ocean of joy
Is it what we own or who we are?
Standing on the testing ground
Verse
On a blanket of forgiveness I find
No grudges, no guilt, peace of mind
On a blanket of forgiveness I find
Break the mind-forged manacles that bind
Verse
Witness the darkness defer to light
Witness the spirit manifest within
Witness the Mother Kundalini rise
Witness the new dawn arise

Old Pixie Ears

|

Chorus
Old pixie ears knows too much
It's not a burden he carries lightly
Old pixie ears knows too much
Excess to the point of unsightly
Verse
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing
His is a veritable tsunami
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing
His is a veritable tsunami
Verse
His opinions in a given situation
Precludes all other possibilities
And anyone who disagrees with him
Is looking to lose their sensibilities

Straphanger, subway Sadie, sybaritic, twenty one
Straphanger, she's sighing, she's signing, on the 1 (the 1 train)
Upper West Side girls are lovely
They're aware what they look like
Swaying to the rhythm of the 1 train
Oh man, pure delight.
Snitchin' on your bestie
Tweetin' to your wifey
Are you dead ass?
Yeah! I'm dead ass
Snitchin' on your bestie
Tweetin' to your wifey
Are you dead ass?
Yeah! I'm dead ass

Feet of Clay

Chorus
Feet of clay
Hearts of stone
Minds full of illusion
Greed and confusion
Verse
What ever happened to
e pluribus unam?
What ever happened to
One nation under God?
Chorus
Verse
Moral fragmentation
Besets the nation
We're staring at meltdown
Economic conflagration
Chorus
Verse
Ends are beginnings
This is the beginning of the end
The mighty are gonna fall
And the weapons of war perish

Wall Street's Creed Is Greed
© Alan Wherry - daisyamerica LLC
Chorus
Wall Street's creed is greed
And they think it's fine
But their number's up ours is ninety-nine
Liberty Plaza, Foley Square,
If Inspector Bologna finds you there
His pepper spray will have its way
In the eyes of helpless women, walking away
Who's he protecting, who's he serve?
Where's the justice? What a nerve.
Wall Street's creed is greed
And they think it's fine
But their number's up ours is ninety-nine
We don't need nightsticks, we need healthcare and jobs
Education for everyone, not just for the kids of those who rob
Wall Street's creed is greed
And they think it's fine
But their number's up ours is ninety-nine
Down here, Brookes Brothers ain't selling no ties
Russ Limbaugh's still telling his lies.
Wall Street's creed is greed
And they think it's fine
But their number's up ours is ninety-nine
Zucotti Park is showing the way
Hundreds more across the USA
Wall Street's creed is greed
And they think it's fine
But their number's up ours is ninety-nine

Her presence alone brings joy to our lives

The hint of a smile, a joy to savor

Who could resist her, so pure and so wise
Soulful serenity, peacefully blissful
In her Momma's arms, safe and secure.

Chorus
If I lie down now, I might never get up again,
I might never get up again,
So I'll stay on my feet, doing what i do
Verse
I'm tired, so tired,
But I'm up on my feet,
Like water, in the flow of life.
Chorus
Verse
Without a compass, without a pole star,
I'm navigating,
In Stygian gloom.
Chorus
Verse
New York City water, it's tasty
So refreshing.
Better thank anything you can buy in a bottle
Keeps me fresh and clear.
